How to set up the morning brief
Switch the morning brief on or off, choose the hour it arrives and preview it, all through the agent panel. The brief is an email with one section per saved site.

Steps
Sign in and save at least one site
The brief is emailed to your account address and built from your saved sites, so you need an account and at least one site. Add sites in the Saved sites section of your account page.
Tip: Without a saved site there is nothing to put in the brief.
Add a rule to the sites you care most about
Sites with a rule get a real lamp, a worst hour against your limit and an exceedance peak. Sites without one still appear, marked NO RULE. Set rules from the Alerts page.
Tip: Having at least one rule also turns the brief on by default.
Open the agent panel
Open the agent from the Ask the agent button in the site header, or from Explain this in the instrument. The brief has no switch or time picker on the Alerts page or the account page. Everything is done by asking the agent in plain words.
Tip: Setting the brief needs you to be signed in.
Ask the agent to turn it on and set the hour
Type a request such as turn on my morning brief at 07:00. The agent saves the setting straight away, with no confirm button, and reports the setting it saved. It accepts whole hours from 0 to 23, and an IANA timezone name such as Europe/Dublin if you want one.
Tip: The default is 06:00 in the timezone of your first saved site.
Preview the brief
In the agent panel, click the brain icon labelled What I remember. Under the memory list, click Preview my morning brief. It opens in a new tab and is composed on the spot. Nothing is emailed.
Tip: The preview link only shows when you are signed in.
Check it arrives
The brief is sent once a day in your chosen hour, from alerts@thewindagent.com, with a subject starting Wind brief. Check your spam folder on the first morning.
Tip: The check runs every 30 minutes, so it arrives near the start of that hour.
01What the morning brief is
The morning brief is a daily email with one section per saved site, up to 25. Each section opens with a lamp word (STOP, UNKNOWN, WATCH, GO or NO RULE) and lists Now, Worst hour, P(exceed) peak, Best window, Models and Observation. Worst hour looks at the rest of today. When a language model is available, a short paragraph at the top summarises the sites, using only numbers from the brief. Sites are sorted with STOP first, and each ends with a link, Open in the instrument. The figures are modelled forecasts. For what each line means, read How to read the morning brief.
02Plan requirements for the brief
The brief belongs to the Pro plan and above: Pro, Ops and Enterprise. Starter does not include it. The check happens when the email is due, so on Starter nothing is sent even if the setting is on. Asking the agent to switch it on does not test your plan, and nor does the preview link, so both can appear to work on Starter. Plan limits only apply when billing is switched on for the deployment. See Which plan do I need for the comparison.
03Which sites are included
Every saved site is included, up to 25, whether or not it has a rule, and you cannot pick sites. For a site with a rule, the brief uses the rule's metric and threshold: gust is read at 10 m, mean speed at the site's height. For a site with no rule, it shows the worst hour with a note that no rule is set. To leave a site out, delete it. Arm an alert rule explains how to add rules.
04Default send time and timezone
If you have never set anything, the brief is on only when at least one site has a rule, and arrives at 06:00. The timezone is the one saved with your brief settings or, if none, the timezone of your first saved site. A scan runs every 30 minutes; when the local hour matches your chosen hour and no brief has gone out that day, the email is sent. At most one brief is sent per day.
05Changing the hour or timezone
Ask the agent in plain words, for example change my morning brief to 05:00, or set my brief timezone to Europe/Madrid. The agent saves it at once and tells you the setting. Only whole hours from 0 to 23 are accepted, and the timezone must be a valid IANA name. If the agent is running without its language model, it cannot change the brief. See How to ask the agent a question.
06Turning the morning brief off
Ask the agent: turn off my morning brief. It takes effect immediately and no more briefs are sent until you ask it to turn the brief on again. It applies to all sites at once, as there is no per-site switch. The footer of every brief repeats this instruction.
07If something goes wrong
If the brief does not arrive, work down the list. Confirm your plan includes the brief. Confirm you have at least one saved site; the preview reports an error if you have none. Remember the brief is on by default only when a site has a rule, so ask the agent to turn it on if you have no rules. Check the hour and timezone, and your spam folder for alerts@thewindagent.com. Contact support through the contact page if it persists.
Questions
What information is included in the morning brief?
For each site: the lamp, the wind now at the site height, the worst hour of the rest of today against your rule, the peak chance of crossing it, the best window, whether the models agree or split, and a check against the nearest weather station. Probabilities are uncalibrated member fractions.
Can I receive the morning brief for specific sites only?
No. The brief covers all your saved sites, up to 25, with no setting to include or exclude individual ones. You can turn the whole brief off, or delete a site.
How can I change the email address where the brief is sent?
The brief goes to the email address on your account. There is no separate recipient setting, and the account page does not offer a way to edit your email address.
Is the brief available on all plans?
No. The morning brief starts on Pro. Starter does not include it, so no email is sent on Starter even if the setting is on. Ops and Enterprise include it too. See Upgrade your plan if you want to move up.
What happens if there is no forecast data for a site?
That site's section is still included, with the lamp UNKNOWN and a line saying the forecast did not load, and the other sites are unaffected. If the station feed does not answer, the Observation line says UNKNOWN and that the model was not checked that morning.
