How to use the shift window on the fleet board
Set the SITE SHIFT hours on the fleet board so each site's lamp, next-crossing time and sort order reflect your working day. Covers overnight shifts and an empty window.

Steps
Open the fleet board
Go to /fleet. The board is part of the Ops and Enterprise plans. Each saved site is a row, sorted by the next hour the odds cross 40%.
Find SITE SHIFT
Look at the line above the heading Fleet board. It reads OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW · followed by SITE SHIFT and two drop-down menus.
Tip: The shift starts at 06:00 and ends at 18:00 until you change it.
Set Shift start
Open the Shift start menu and pick the hour your shift begins, from 00:00 to 23:00.
Set Shift end
Open the Shift end menu and pick the hour it finishes, from 01:00 to 24:00. The finishing hour itself is not counted, so 06:00 to 18:00 covers the hours starting at 06:00 up to the one starting at 17:00.
Read the board again
The rows update straight away. Each row's MAX P / SHIFT column shows its highest odds inside the window with the window written beneath it, for example 06:00 to 18:00, and the lamp and NEXT P ≥ 40% column use only those hours.
01What the shift window does
The window decides which forecast hours the board looks at for every site. The lamp, the highest odds, the NEXT P ≥ 40% time and the row order are all calculated from those hours only, not from the whole forecast. Hours are read as each site's own local clock, so a 06:00 start means 06:00 where that site is. The shift is a view setting for the fleet board. It does not change your rules, it does not affect the instrument at /app, and it is not used for email alerts, which have their own look-ahead. See reading the fleet board.
02Which hours are used
The board uses the next stretch of in-shift hours, counting from the current hour. If your shift is in progress, that is from now to the end of the shift. If it has finished for the day, the board looks at the next time the shift begins, even if that is tomorrow. It stops at the first gap, so only one continuous run of hours is used. This is why a site checked in the evening can be judged on tomorrow's daytime shift. The forecast the board reads for odds extends three days ahead, so a window that long or longer cannot show odds beyond that.
03Overnight shifts
For a shift that crosses midnight, set Shift start later than Shift end. For example, start 22:00 and end 06:00 covers the hours from 22:00 through to the hour starting at 05:00 the next morning, as one continuous run. The same site-local clock applies to each site.
04How the next crossing is chosen
The NEXT P ≥ 40% column shows the first hour in the window where the odds of breaking the rule reach 40%, with that hour's odds underneath. If the odds are known but never reach 40% it says No crossing, and on a phone the line reads No crossing in shift. It says UNKNOWN if no odds could be computed, and a dash if the site has no rule. The default sort puts the earliest crossing first, then orders by lamp, then by highest odds. Sites with no crossing sit lower. See what the lamps mean.
05Covering the whole day and remembering your choice
To look at all hours, set Shift start to 00:00 and Shift end to 24:00. Every remaining forecast hour is then in the window. Your choice is stored in this browser only. It is not saved to your account or to individual sites, so another computer, or the same one with reset site data, starts again at 06:00 to 18:00. The same window applies to every site on the board.
06If a row says there are no forecast hours
A row with No forecast hours in the shift window. has an UNKNOWN lamp because no hour fell inside the window. The usual cause is a start and end set to the same hour, which leaves an empty window, since the board does not check that the end is after the start. Choose different hours. Forecast unavailable. means the forecast did not load for that site, and No rule set with a prompt to add a limit means the site needs a rule, which you can add with the pencil on its row. Neither is caused by the shift.
Questions
What happens if start and end are the same hour?
The window is empty. Every site shows UNKNOWN with No forecast hours in the shift window. Pick an end hour that differs from the start hour. The board does not warn you when you choose the same one.
Does the shift window affect the instrument at /app?
No. It only changes the fleet board. The instrument always shows the full forecast for its own place and hour, and it keeps its own settings.
Can I give different sites different shift windows?
No. There is one shift window for the whole board. If crews work different patterns, change the window when you switch between them.
Why does a site show No crossing when the wind looks strong?
The column is based on ensemble odds of breaking that site's own rule inside the window. Strong wind below your threshold, or strong wind outside the window, does not count. Check the site's rule and the window written under MAX P / SHIFT.
Is the shift in my time or the site's time?
The site's. Each hour is compared with the clock where that site is, so a 06:00 to 18:00 shift covers that site's local daytime wherever you are viewing from.
